There are over 800 wineries in Sonoma County and Napa Valley, many with a rich history that reflects the area’s culture. Sonoma’s winemaking dates back to the early 19th century when Spanish missionaries planted grape vines at San Francisco de Solano, California’s northernmost mission, located in what is now the City of Sonoma.
